Phuture Insights - Dec 11, 2020

Hi Phamily,

I've decided to start a short weekly email offering focused on things I'm interested in, listening to, reading, working on. Think of it as a curated window into my curious world of creativity, music, and the human psyche.

MUSIC

Earlier this year I released a special project titled "Living Wisdom". A collaboration between The Gene KeysEntheo & myself. You can think of these as sonic contemplations woven from a tapestry of audio alchemy and poetic insights. Spotify or Download

I've gained a lot of insight and self-awareness from The Gene Keys. I highly recommend checking it out.

WHAT I'M READING

15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership. 15 admirable qualities for any person to contemplate and live into, regardless of their interest in leadership.

Commitment 1: "Taking full responsibility".  I've received many gains from this contemplation over the years. When I decide to take full responsibility for things that lead to suffering in my life (even if it feels like a stretch at the moment) I begin to shift from "Life is happening to me" to a "Life is happening for me" attitude. I start to assume a more empowered outlook.

LEARNING

I've released a Beginners EDM Production course called The Phuture Producer Method

I've found that following my creative impulses have been one of the most consistent paths to joy and fulfillment in my life, particularly in the realm of music. And I'm excited to share this with anyone who wants to learn. If you or anyone you know is interested, check it out.

WISDOM

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”    ~ Rumi

It's so easy to look for what we can add to our lives to improve it. Sometimes magic lies in seeking out what we can remove. I know I could benefit from more of this mindset in my personal growth journey. This is also true in music creation...  When a song is nearly finished I begin muting different sounds and frequently find that the song is improved by removing things, rather than adding them.

PERSONAL GROWTH

My health, vitality, and state of mind have benefited a great deal from breathwork in recent years. Wim Hof is a great place to start if you haven't already explored this practice. It's something I do every morning, creating a great mindset as a move into my day.
